So my friend Annie wanted to take me to a new store she found that she knew I would loooooove! Well I did !A little store called Iron Works...full of heavenly stuff for your home and garden. MY KIND OF PLACE....!I'll post some pics of what I bought tomorrow.I didn't buy much because I was saving up for the main attraction on our planned outing for the next store she would introduce me too called.. Cactus Joes'....Any one know about it?....
I will tell you this... I am in love with Cactus Joe! I mean him... Cactus Joe himself...love...love...love...him!
If I weren't married... I would have asked him to marry me today. The nicest guy .... you will ever meet! Back off ladies... he's mine!
He had me at....I'm just a poor old farmer from Missouri...or could it have been...when I told him I liked old scruffy things.. he said... well were gonna get along just great then!or maybe it was his big ole' white fat belly pig that just roams around the property checking on customers. Maybe it was the story about all the dogs on his property and how they are rescue dogs that he gets before they put them down and how they bring his blood pressure down so he doesn't have to take meds for high blood pressure... Orrrr maybe it was the DEAL....I mean S-T-E-A-L that he gave me on the two gorgeous blue pots I found!!!
They were 250.00 each... ohhhhh.... that I got for....ohhh I can't tell!
Let's just say... I love me some... Cactus Joe ! SA-WEET!
Mr. Joe...I will definitely be back for another visit...soon! I already have my eye on one of those old wood rung leaning ladders to put by my pool to hang pool towels on and some of his gorgeous colored glass rock... can't wait!
Oh and I forgot to mention the drive out by Red Rock Canyon.... ummmmm HellOOOOO!
Why hasn't my hubby taken me out there? It's only 20 min away from where I live!I was in awe at the beauty of that place...and I forgot... you know it... my camera!
UGGHHHH!!!!!!! Lesson learned.... never leave home with out your camera. I met an awesome person of colorful character at an amazing place that goes on forever and saw the most beautiful place I've seen in a very long time. I'm goin' BACK!
Nevada is really starting to grow on me....if you think Nevada is all about the dust and cactus... well you better take a ride on out to Cactus Joes'.... he's got a little sompin' sompin' to show you!
The Shabby Tutu
Boldness!
This is my motto that I stand by today... as a 3 year Breast Cancer Survivor.... I walk in Boldness ...Not in fear!
Luke 10:19
I have given you authority to trample on the heads of serpents and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing will harm you.

Bringing things to life!
WOW....
I'm really tired today... or tonight. Still trying to put it all together. It's a learning process, that's for sure.
Time.... why does it go by so fast? They say time flies when your having fun. It also flies when your busy weather it's fun or not and sometimes it just flies for no apparent reason... or so it seems. Maybe you just notice it more as you get older.
Since cancer came knocking at my door several years ago...I appreciate the beauty in things more than I did before. I see things in a whole different light. It's like God turned on my flood lights, and said... Knock... Knock!! Hel-looo...here I have a gift for you, a pair of 3-D rose colored glasses. Now look and see what I have been trying to show you!
And what to my wondering eyes did appear??? Yet another day... without any fear!
I may have always liked antiques and vintage things, because they all have a story behind them. Through the dirt and grime, dust and time... lies a story from each piece. Where it hung or layed.. maybe it was proudly displayed. Whose hands touched them, who bought the piece and brought it home.. or who was the artist that took his or her precious time to dream it up and bring it to life. Everyone has a story to tell and every piece... has a story behind it.
I have a new appreciation for these things... giving them time back, like God gave me. I cherish my new time... and all that is in it.
I hope you cherish yours too.

What inspired my blog....
Well....tonight I started a blog.
It all started with a room that stood piled with mountains of boxes for six months.
What were in the boxes you ask?
Craft items, every kind of craft project you could think of. Some finished, some started but not finished, some just there but not started. Ideas, thoughts, photos riped from magazines with plans attached and projects that were not even thought of yet...like my shabby little tutu.
But it all started with the room.... brought to life by my daugher and myself. She motivates me... my crafty daughter... an art student at ETSU. Together we completed my art-craft room..which I call my shabby little cottage. I love old things. Antiques, vintage everything. I covered my room with all the things that I love and have been collecting for years.
Now... finally I can get to work, doing what I love to do. Craft, art projects... and write.
I started making a tutu for a friends grandaughter and told her.. this is a shabby tutu. She asked... what in the heck is a shabby tutu? I told her it's what this tutu is until I get it finished!... Hence the name was born for my blog and the start of making my projects come to life.
Everything old is new again...I love to take lifeless pieces of furniture, and items and bring them to life again. Reborn.. like a butterfly and how Jesus makes us through his love.
I'm a Christian and I love God. I accept all and do not judge. God is love.. and he loves us all the same no matter who we are or what we believe.
Everyone and I mean everyone is welcome to my blog and I hope all will be blessed and visit again.
